From Egg to Chick at BenavidesDel huevo al pollito en Benavides

The arrival of the chicken eggs from the farm generated much excitement and anticipation throughout the Benavides school community this spring. Three classrooms took on the responsibility of nurturing these eggs, using incubators to simulate the growth process of the chicken embryo. Students eagerly watched as the chicks hatched, gaining firsthand knowledge about their life cycle.

The educational journey didn’t end with the hatching. Students continued to observe and care for the chicks as they grew and developed, learning about the different stages of their early life. This hands-on experience provided a unique opportunity to understand the responsibilities involved in animal care and the importance of establishing positive relationships with animals.
 
The project not only enriched the students’ understanding of biology and animal care but also fostered a sense of empathy and responsibility. Watching the chicks grow and eventually preparing them for their return to the farm was a lesson in both science and stewardship.
 
Overall, the chicken egg project was an egg-cellent experience for all, leaving lasting memories and valuable lessons for the students at Benavides.

La llegada de los huevos de gallina de la granja generó mucho entusiasmo y anticipación en toda la comunidad escolar de Benavides esta primavera. Tres aulas asumieron la responsabilidad de criar estos huevos, utilizando incubadoras para simular el proceso de crecimiento del embrión de gallina. Los estudiantes observaron con entusiasmo cómo nacían los polluelos y adquirieron conocimiento de primera mano sobre su ciclo de vida.

El viaje educativo no terminó con la eclosión. Los estudiantes continuaron observando y cuidando a los polluelos a medida que crecían y se desarrollaban, aprendiendo sobre las diferentes etapas de sus primeras etapas de vida. Esta experiencia práctica brindó una oportunidad única para comprender las responsabilidades involucradas en el cuidado de los animales y la importancia de establecer relaciones positivas con los animales.

El proyecto no sólo enriqueció la comprensión de los estudiantes sobre la biología y el cuidado de los animales, sino que también fomentó un sentido de empatía y responsabilidad. Ver crecer a los polluelos y, finalmente, prepararlos para su regreso a la granja fue una lección tanto de ciencia como de administración.

En general, el proyecto del huevo de gallina fue una experiencia excelente para todos, dejando recuerdos duraderos y lecciones valiosas para los estudiantes de Benavides.
