Tomcats battle Elgin October 25 for potential playoff Este 25 de octubre, Tomcats se enfrentan a Elgin para un posible avance a la postemporada

On Friday, October 25, the varsity boys football team will travel to Elgin High School, 1200 Maroon Drive, Elgin, to take on the Maroons. The sophomore game will begin at 5:00 p.m., and the varsity game begins at 7:30 p.m.

Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and tickets are available at the gate only. Admission for adults is $5. Students are $3 with ID.

This Friday’s game has playoff implications for both teams, as both East High and Elgin have 4-4 records. The winner of the game is not guaranteed a playoff spot, but will be eligible to make the playoffs. This is the first time since 2000 that East High has had four wins (the Tomcats finished 5-4 in 2000), and it could be the first time since 1982 that the football team makes the playoffs.

East High student fan buses

East High will have a fan bus(es) available for students to attend Friday’s football game in Elgin. The fan bus allows East High students a free ride to and from the game, as well as free admission to the game, courtesy of the Sports Boosters. Permission slips must be turned in by end of the school day on Wednesday, October 23. Students riding the fan bus MUST return to East High on the fan bus, after the game. Students can pick up a permission slip form in the main office or from Mr. Gerk. The fan bus will leave from Door #8 at East High, at 5:00 p.m.

La escuela preparatoria del Este tendrá un autobús(es) para que los estudiantes fanáticos asistan al juego de fútbol americano del viernes en Elgin. El autobús de fanáticos permitirá a los estudiantes del Este trasladarse de manera gratuita hacia y desde el juego, como también la admisión gratis al juego, cortesía de Sports Boosters. Los formularios de permiso deben entregarse para el final de la jornada escolar, el miércoles 23 de octubre. Los estudiantes que se trasladen en el autobús DEBEN regresar a la escuela preparatoria del Este en el autobús para fanáticos, después del juego. Los estudiantes pueden recoger el formulario de permiso en la oficina principal o con el Sr. Gerk. El autobús para fanáticos partirá a las 5:00 p.m., de la puerta #8 en la Escuela Preparatoria del Este.
