District 131 Red and Black event set for August 13District 131 Red and Black event set for August 13

District 131 faculty and staff will convene at East High for the District’s annual Red and Black event on Monday, August 13. The event will begin at 8:15 a.m. and conclude at approximately 10 a.m.

The Red and Black event is the district’s traditional, celebratory event where all staff gather before the start of the school year. The event will be held in the Hawks Auditorium at East Aurora High School, 500 Tomcat Lane, Aurora.

A free continental breakfast will be available for staff in the high school cafeteria from 7 to 8 a.m.

Among the highlights of the celebration will be recognition of staff nominated for county and state awards, a welcome back message from superintendent Dr. Jennifer Norrell, remarks by District 131 Board of Education president Ms. Annette Johnson and teachers’ union president Mr. Gerry Mestek, as well as a staff summer-in-review presentation.
